Conversion methodology
Every result follows a documented relationship between compatible units.
Reference-unit model
Each proportional unit is normalized through a stable reference unit within its category. A value is converted to the reference unit, then into the destination unit. This makes reverse conversions consistent and reduces duplicated factors.
Exact and conventional values
Exact definitions are stored without unnecessary rounding. Display precision affects presentation only, not the calculation itself.
Temperature
Temperature scales include offsets as well as ratios. We therefore convert through kelvin using scale-specific formulas rather than a single multiplication factor.
Review process
Conversion formulas are reviewed and maintained regularly. Changes are checked against primary measurement references before publication.
